1. Members-Only Area – Normally Only Available on Shopify Plus

This type of gated content is usually locked behind Shopify Plus, but I built it using Firebase — saving the client over $2,000/month while delivering advanced access control features.

Members-Only Content

Dynamic Page Access: Specific content is shown based on whether the visitor is logged in and signed up as a member.
Customizable Content Blocks: Pages are structured so that clients can edit and add content using no-code tools within the Shopify editor.

Members-Only Blog

Private Blog Area: Blog content is gated based on login and membership status, giving members access to exclusive content.
Upsell Opportunities for Non-Members: Visitors who aren’t members see a styled prompt encouraging sign-up.

Authentication System

Secure Login Flow: Built a custom login and registration process using Firebase Authentication, integrated with Shopify’s customer system.
Role-Based Visibility: All member logic runs dynamically — the site adapts in real-time to the user’s login and membership status.

2. Technical Enhancements for Flexibility & Maintainability

Spacer Blocks and Sections:
Created easy-to-use spacer components — both blocks and full-width sections — that allow you as a client to control layout spacing directly in the Shopify editor.
Theme Code Customization:
Customized Dawn’s Liquid, CSS, and JavaScript structure to better support layout, branding, and business logic.
Custom Stylesheet:
Created a separate stylesheet to organize all store-wide custom styling in one place, making future updates and maintenance easier.
GitHub Integration:
Connected the store to GitHub for version control, backup, and a more professional development workflow using tools like VS Code and Shopify CLI.
